Greetings! At Black Hydra Armouries we specialize in Japanese armour. We carry three lines. The first is Japanese armour re-engineered to be suitable for SCA combat. The second is our western armour line available in stainless or high carbon steel. Our third line is re-enactment grade armour again specializing in Japanese armour. While all pieces in lines one and two are *designed* to be SCA legal, all armour is sold as costume only. If your kingdom has different standards for any particular piece it is your responsibility to inform us when you order. As we have no control over final configuration or usage BHA cannot take responsibility for any injuries sustained while using BHA products.

About us:

I am M.J.Peters (in the SCA Lord Kurodachi no Mykaru) and have been making armour since 1991. My love of japanese armour led me to move to Japan in 2003 where I spent 2 years studying armour with some of the greatest traditional armorers in Japan (actually, asking stupid questions after gruelling armour text translation sessions), and spent as much time as possible examining armour both original and reproduction.

Delivery:

Although estimates are just that, at BHA we do our best to get orders out as soon as possible.

Custom work:
Currently we are not accepting any custom orders. Please check our in stock page for the occasional custom piece.

Payment:
At this time we are working on a no deposit system. (except unusual custom work). Payment is on completion of order by international bank transfer.

I stand behind my work. If our armour fails under normal conditions we will repair it free (+shipping cost) for the life of the piece. Original purchaser only.

As my shop is in Thailand phone calls in most cases are *not* feasible. However, if there is a problem with one of our products every accomodation will be made.
